A comfortable caravan on California Cliffs holiday park in Scratby, a few minutes' walk from a long, sandy beach. It sleeps 6, with a double room, a twin room and a double sofa bed, plus a decked terrace that gets the sun all day, with glimpses of the sea. Parking is right next to the caravan and check-in is by lockbox, so there's no queue at reception. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. A relaxed seaside base for families and dog owners.

The space

7 Grouse sits slightly apart from its neighbours on California Cliffs, with a decked terrace that catches the sun from morning to early evening.

Living and dining
An open-plan lounge with plenty of seating, a flat-screen TV and a dining area for family meals. The sofa opens into a double bed for two extra guests.

Kitchen
Equipped for self-catering, with a gas hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle and toaster.

Bedroom 1: double bed with storage
Bedroom 2: two single beds, good for children or friends

Bathroom
A modern shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Outside
The decked terrace has outdoor furniture and is the best spot on the caravan for breakfast or a drink in the evening sun. Parking is directly next to the caravan.

Included
Bed linen and towels. The bathroom has a bar of hand soap and travel-size shampoo and body wash to get you started.

Bringing your dog
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at £25 per dog, up to 2 dogs per stay. The beach is a few minutes' walk away and has plenty of space for a good run.

The neighbourhood

California Cliffs is a Parkdean holiday park in Scratby, on the Norfolk coast just north of Great Yarmouth. The beach is a few minutes' walk from the caravan, down a fairly steep slope, and once you're there it's a long stretch of sand that's often quiet. Seals are sometimes seen offshore.

Great Yarmouth's Golden Mile, with the Pleasure Beach, Sea Life Centre and piers, is a short drive away. The Norfolk Broads are close by for a day on the water, and the seal colony at Horsey Gap is well worth a trip in winter.

House rules

Check-in is from 4pm and checkout is by 10am.
A maximum of 6 guests can stay.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at £25 per dog, up to 2 dogs. Please keep them off beds and sofas and don't leave them alone in the caravan.
No smoking or vaping inside the caravan.
No parties or events.
Please keep to the park's quiet hours, 11pm to 8am.

Guest access

You'll have the whole caravan, the decked terrace and the parking space to yourselves. Check-in is by lockbox, so you can head straight to the caravan without stopping at reception.

The park's facilities, including the indoor and outdoor pools, bar and restaurant, shop and entertainment, are run by Parkdean. Access needs park passes, which you can buy at reception.

Interaction with guests

We'll give you your privacy, but we're always close by. 7 Grouse is looked after by the Xscape Staycations team, and we're available by message throughout your stay if you need anything at all. If something needs fixing, just let us know and we'll sort it as quickly as we can.

You'll receive your check-in instructions and lockbox details 24 hours before you arrive.

Other things to note

The path down to the beach is fairly steep, so take care with buggies and anyone less steady on their feet.
Park facilities need passes, bought at reception. Opening times change through the season, so it's worth checking before you go.
This is a holiday caravan on a busy park, so you may see and hear other holidaymakers.
The sofa bed is fine for a night or two but is firmer than the main beds.
The bathroom has a bar of hand soap and travel-size shampoo and body wash. For a longer stay, you may want to bring your own as well.
